Rapamycin mimics torpor: both extend lifespan by suppressing mTOR transiently
Rapamycin extends lifespan across species. But it does not mimic any natural state—it mimics a transient stress response that long-lived species evolved to use cyclically.

The transient suppression framing is sharp. But torpor involves more than just mTOR - thyroid downregulation, fuel switching, metabolic shutdown. Is rapamycin actually mimicking the full picture, or just one lever of many? And whats the dosing strategy chronic suppression or pulsing?
